Kym-Marie commenced with the firm in November 2017, a time that marks her 24th anniversary as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. As at December 2017, a similar milestone will be achieved with her admission to the High Court of Australia – which enables her to appear in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
During that time, Kym-Marie has practiced primarily in family law, exposing her to location and recovery orders for children, negotiating care arrangements for children and later securing the appointment of Independent Children’s Lawyer. Alongside this, Kym-Marie has negotiated, consent arrangements where possible, property settlements involving the family home, trust and company structures.
An approachable, realistic and grounded practitioner, Kym-Marie’s goal is to negotiate rather than litigate, so far as practical and appropriate. A keen student of life, Kym-Marie is currently working towards attaining an Applied Masters in Family Law through the College of Law, and is due to complete this in June 2018.
When not looking after client interests, Kym-Marie can be found exploring walking tracks, planning her next adventure and engaging in the occasional trail run.
